"Traits BD" Exhibit
My comic book themed exhibit TRAITS BD will be part of the lancement régional des célébrations 2010 de la fête nationale du Québec. After stops in Nominingue and Rivière-Rouge, the exhibit, masterly organized by Edith Forget, will be in Mont-Tremblant until May 30.
The official openning will be May 20 at 5 pm.

LA GALLERY'S GRAND OPENNING
A new gallery dedicated to comic-book originals is openning this week. On March 10, La Gallery will open its doors at 4109, St-Denis street, in Montréal.
For now, La Gallery is not selling originals via internet, only at the gallery itself. I will have many pieces exhibited : sketches, Superman and L'Ordre des Dragons originals, illustrations and paintings. I hope to see you there.

Another fresh delivery in bookstores! This time it's a hardcover compilation of humor comics (in french) called L'ENCYCLOPÉDIE DEKESSÉ. Created with writer Rose Beef for SAFARIR magazine, the series is like a psychedelic MAD comics.

Just back from the Agouleme comic book fest! L'Ordre des Dragons, book 2 was very well received as was the limited B&W edition only available at the fest. The publicity? Well.... ;-)

How easy it is to lose track of things... It appears that the DEATH of SUPERMAN book has become the Best Selling Graphic Novel of all times in the US. After verification, the numbers amount to 1,816,474 copies sold, not counting the original serialization in comic book format !

On top of being the STAFF PICK of the month in PREVIEWS, being included in the Scripps Howard News Service comic book top 10 for 2006 in the #7 position, the first issue of Revolution on the PLANET OF THE APES (with covers painted by Denis) was nominated for a Shuster Award for best written comic issue of 2005.

We are delighted to announce that SHOES FOR AMÉLIE (written by Connie Colker Steiner, illustrated by Denis) has won the 2004 McNally Robinson Book for Young People Award!
The award is administered by the Manitoba Writers’ Guild and sponsored by McNally Robinson Booksellers.
Looking back, this book was shortlisted for the Canadian Library Association Book of the Year for Children (2002) and for the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People (2002), and was a Canadian Children’s Book Centre Our Choice selection (2002), as well as the winner of the Sydney Taylor Book Award for Notable Children's Book of Jewish Content, Association of Jewish Libraries (2001). The McNally Robinson nomination adds even more shine to this already brilliant book!

This time for world famous percussionists, TERRY BOZZIO and PAT MASTELOTTO (Terry played with Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck and many more, and Pat is of course, King Crimson's drummer).
